3G..to be or not to be?? |

First and foremost, I think the revolution of the telephone has gone completely overboard. We have gone from 1G to 3 G in a relative short period of time. It is as if we are being trained for some completely new communication atmosphere that will soon just over take the whole of humanity. I am from the Sam Drucker days where you climb up the phone pole to make a call. That is good for me. I get exercise and fresh air just making a phone call. So I completely ignore all G’s. 1 G, 2 G and 3 G. They don’t do anything for me. My kids are a different breed. They embrace this whole thing like fish in water. They laugh at me like I am technologically obsolete. 3 G phones are truly something out of the future to me. Why do I need to watch video, listen to music, take pictures, access the internet, transfer wireless data on a phone that costs what seems like a mortgage for me to operate? I know that 3 G stands for the 3rd generation of change and improvement in wireless technology but how many G’s are there to come and what happens when I’m stuck with my 3 G mortgage and the world has moved to the 35 G mega thought activated communication devices? If you are into this technology it is something to consider. 3 G phones are very reliable and offer some of the most convenient communication available today. Maybe if they promise me that 3 is the final G I will invest. I see at least a thousand more G;s coming at us and I have not even picked up the 1 G. 3 G phones have greater features and better performance but I think the old phone had great features and it’s performance is not to bad either. It let me speak to the next person when I wanted to. By the way, 4 G is on the launching platform. It is coming to a store near you very soon! I know that eventually I will join the 3G revolution.
